Cobham at Christmas 2011Observant residents will have seen the Christmas Lights and Christmas trees being installed in Cobham over the last few days.

Again this year we aim to have the brightest and best illuminations to give a real 'Festive Welcome' to visitors to the Village – local residents or people travelling in.

We also have our annual Window Display competition for the shops and businesses to show themselves off for Christmas.

Our Cobham at Christmas event is Friday 30th November with events starting from 17:30. As in previous years part of Anyards Road, the High Street and Church Street will be closed from approximately 18:30 to 19:30.

Parade of Light 2011As usual we have a big 'Parade of Light' coming through the Village down from St Andrews School, to reach the High Street as the lights go on at 7pm. The parade is made up of floats, displays and individual walkers with their lanterns made at the workshops over recent weeks.

Turning on the Christmas Lights this year will be Tyger Drew-Honey, star of the hit sit-com 'Outnumbered'

Santa will be well established in his 'Secret Grotto' located in the alley to the Library from the High street. This year we hope Santa will have his own lighting to show he has arrived, he will be welcoming children of all ages to his grotto from about 6pm.

Childrens rides will also be available in Hollyhedge Parade and outside Moonflower.

From all at Cobham Chamber of Commerce we wish our Village Card holders a warm and exciting welcome to Cobham at Christmas 2012.

We hope you enjoy the event and, importantly go on to have a very Happy Christmas & New Year as well as a healthy and prosperous 2013.
