We are very excited that Cobham Recreation Ground has won the special award from Fields in Trust to be renamed a Queen Elizabeth II Playing Field in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Local organisations have been working together to make Sunday 3rd June a wonderful day for the people of Cobham to participate in FREE Jubilee celebrations.

Join in, bring your picnic to the Field, or buy your lunch and choose from hog roast, burgers or sausages. Pimms and soft drinks also for sale.

During the 'Big Lunch' you will be able to see the Royal River Pageant live on a Big Screen and a 'Live' Jazz Band will be playing.

Lots of fun activities including: Smoothie Bike, Active Elmbridge Sports Bag, Shout! Kit & Shout! Cobham Martial Arts, COD's Youth Action Group (Football), Fire Brigade, Police, Countryside Team Crafts, Ice Cream, Elmbridge BC showcase, Face painting of Union Jacks and children's rides.

The schedule of events is:-

9:30am

 

Special service at St. Andrew's Church, Cobham, followed by Maypole dancing by children from St Andrew's School.

11am - 4pm

Plaque ceremony attended by the Mayor of Elmbridge for renaming the Cobham Recreation Ground a Queen Elizabeth II Field.

Cobham Bowling Club will have open house so you'll be able to try out your bowling skills.

The day has been arranged by representatives from the Cobham Chamber of Commerce, Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust, St Andrew's Church, Cobham & Downside Residents' Association and Elmbridge Borough Council. But we have also been helped by St Andrew's School, the American Community School, Waitrose, Cargills and others for which we are very grateful.
